Sanjusangendo Temple: Kannon is known as the Goddess of Mercy. The Goddess is believed to change between 33 forms to save people who are suffering from poverty and incurable diseases. The sight of 1001 statues of Kannon with one thousand arms, lined up in rows, takes visitors' breath away.

Kiyomizu-dera Temple: The highlight of Kiyomizu-dera Temple is its main hall, which is known as Kiyomizu Stage. The floor of Kiyomizu Stage is 18 meters high off the ground, and commands a stunning view of Kyoto.

Gion: Gion is a traditional town in Kyoto where old tea houses and Japanese restaurants line the streets. You may see maiko and geisha—traditional female entertainers—while strolling around this district.

Nijo-jo Castle: Nijo-jo Castle was constructed by Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1603. It served both as his residence and as a base for the Tokugawa Shogunate in Kyoto. In 1867, the 15th shogun, Tokugawa Yoshinobu, announced the end of Tokugawa rule in this castle, returning political control to the Emperor.

Nishiki Market: The 400 meters of Nishikikoji-dori Street between Teramachi and Takakura are lined with about 130 shops that sell all varieties of food. The market is like the bustling kitchen of Kyoto, and visitors can find everything from fresh fish and vegetables to processed food and local ingredients.

Kinkakuji Temple: Kinkakuji Temple was constructed by the 3rd shogun, Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, and is a symbol of Kitayama culture. The temple is renowned worldwide for its stunning surrounding landscape, which offers new beauty with each season.
